Though it was a soggy day in Smithville today, what a special day it was.  My good friend and beloved artist, Philip Gray  from Co. Cork stopped by for the craic.  Philip is in the states to promote his art work on the Rose of Tralee special on QVC, this Tuesday, September 5th.  Philip is Ireland's most collected artist.  According to Philip, "Living in Ireland, life and nature completely immerse me in their beauty. They are a constant stimulus to my creative expression. In my paintings I strive not to solely capture the outward appearance of things, but their significance for me.  Life, at the best of times, is cynical. People classify too much and enjoy too little. My paintings mirror my freedom to explore, which is my message to you; enjoy it, explore it, be sensitive and respond to the colours and the spirit of my art."  If you are interested in learning more about Philip or like what you see on QVC, stop by the shop to see more in person.  Right now we have a few remaining limited edition signed collectors pieces.
