The Trinity Knot

The Trinity Knot is one of the few Celtic knots that have a modern day meaning. A tour guide at New Grange once told me (well actually he told Kelly and she told me) that if someone can tell you the meaning of any other Celtic knot, it's a bunch of hooey. Actually his choice of words was a little different. The Trinity Knot is a triangle used to symbolize three Gods in one as taught by St. Patrick. St. Patrick originally used a shamrock to explain the three Gods in one, same as three leaves in one plant, separate, yet connected. It is believed the triangle symbolized the family to the Celtic people: mother, father and child before they were converted to Christianity.
Don't let those girls on the TV show "Charmed" fool you into thinking it has anything to do with witchcraft.....now that's a bunch of hooey.
