My picture was chosen by Little Nashville Music for their new video, "That's My Dog".
So, please keep an eye on www.littlenashvillemusic.com as they plan to launch the video next Tuesday, June 10th!! It will also be on their Myspace, which links directly off of that page.
Remember, that every hit that they get on that video results in a donation being made to the Humane Society. So pass the video on to everyone you know and BRAG about how you know Seamy Mac, star of Radio, TV and now..........Video!..............who knows, maybe we can get my human, WXTU's Razz on the Radio, to play the song!!!!!

I'm sure you've been wondering what I, Seamus MacGowan, have been up to of late. Well let me tell ya, I've been working hard to once again secure free tickets for our customers to one of the hottest shows of the summer.....that's right, the Dropkick Murphys are playing festival pier in Philadelphia on Sunday, June 29th and we are giving away two free pairs of tickets. To enter: email your name, phone, email address and you must answer a trivia question - what is the name of the new bar that Ken Casey of the DKM's just opened in Boston?
.............or you can bring me a bone to the shop, I respond well to bribes.
Here's a photo of my two cousins with the DKMs last time they dropped by Ireland and Old Lace........notice, they were SHOPPING!!!

and last but not least, kudos to my human "Razz on the Radio" of 92.5 WXTU: he won the 11th annual Richie Ashburn Home Runs for Heart Media Day at Citizens Bank Park. He won a really cool trophy, that Fiona the Celtic Cat, likes to sit in!

What a better way to celebrate St. Patrick's Day, then with the Chieftains. I was left home once again (though I did get a really long walk) and my humans were off to Philadelphia to see the legendary band that encompasses the finest musicians in Ireland. Before their show at the Kimmel Center, they wanted to get a bite and a pint to start the day off properly. Alas, the "Running with the Micks" pub crawl was going in full force and a proper pub was difficult to find. For a moment, this bawdy raucous group threw a wrench in my humans day. "Is this a way to celebrate St. Patrick and all the contributions the Irish have made to our world? Dress up in as many shades of green as you can find and drink until your skin matches that unnatural color?" .........until they happened upon Fergies, a quiet pub with some wonderful food, a proper pour and some good craic.........then off to the show. Ah, what to say about the Chieftains, they have 46 albums you know - and they dabbled in a bit of everything from over the years and were proud to tell you of all the fine musicians they have recorded with. A highlight was when the broke into "Satisfaction" by the Stones in tribute to one of their collaborators, Mick Jagger. But the pinnacle of this fine day, was to finally meet the man behind over 4 decades of joy that he has brought to you humans (though they do make my tail wag a bit). The Kimmel Center held a meet and greet for charity with the band after the show. It was completely disorganized to the point that they forgot seating for the band. They actually set up a table in the center of the "boofay" line that allowed on-lookers to gawk at the band eating while they waited on line for their meager meal of picked through crumbs of "spotted dick" and some broth left from what was rumoured to be Irish stew..................but finally the moment came, Paddy Maloney was done with his vittles and looked about ready to leave....my human jumped at the chance. She approached him to sign the Chieftains first album, yes album - vinyl baby, that a generous friend had recently bestowed on her. Paddy took her hand, looked her in the eye and exclaimed "Jaysus, where da hell ya find tat ting? I don't even have a copy meself!" It was a real ice breaker and led to a very interesting conversation, not just with Paddy but with Matt Malloy too. Not only did my human find out about the secret entrance to his pub in Westport, she was also told to "make your presence known love." Happy St. Patrick's Day to you all!
Peace & Paddy Maloney,
Seamus Mac

and tell him to go to Ireland and Old Lace to pick up Barleyjuice's latest release, "Bonny Prince Barley" - featuring Weekend Irish. This CD is sure to be a hit at your St. Patrick's Day party. Plus, all new clothing for the big holiday is arriving this week. Get there soon before your size sells out......oh yeah, and please bring me a treat, my human has me on a diet and I am wasting away to nothing. You know, being skinny is dangerous, I'm so svelte I can fit under our shed where the Opossum lives and I almost got stuck under there. So fatten me up before I become a danger to my self.
Peace and Scooby snacks, Seamus Mac

and Grandma had me partying already. I guess since I'm 5 now; in dog years, that makes me the same age as my human. So a Guinness or two won't hurt me, in fact, they say "Guinness is good for you". OK, Grandma really didn't have me drinkin, this was just one of her silly photo shoots she puts me through when my human goes away. This weekend party girl was in Upper Bucks County to see the Fabulous Barleyjuice and Black 47. Barleyjuice performed several songs from their newly released CD, Bonny Prince Barley, which should be available in our store by this Wednesday. A show stopper is "Weekend Irish", which should definitely become the new Irish American anthem. Black 47, led by frontman Larry Kirwan of Wexford, was amazing as usual. They also have a new cd, "Iraq" which will be available soon. As always, my human was most fond of their songs that are reminiscent of the Bronx, her old stomping grounds. But enough about her, I have to ask - what is up with these Irish Potatoes? I'm not allowed to have any, but humans are coming in, buying 4 or 5 boxes at a time. No need to worry that we will run out, like beer, we will just order more. 42 days to buy your new St. Patrick's Day outfits - new shipments arriving daily. 1.jpg) |

Did you know that I was employee of the month, 12 months in a row? In my mind that makes me employee of the year. Well a fine lot that title gets you. I was told to get off my bum and start blogging. I guess I have been lazy this month and there has been so much going on - I must tell you. First off, our first wedding jewelry trunk show was a huge success and we will be offering another in April so I recommend you sign up soon. Also, my other human (I do have 2 you know) is laboring over a new bar/counter for the store to make more room for even more Irish products for 2008. We have to live up to our reputation of being the "Best Irish Shop Around!" Hopefully they will incorporate a big arm chair for me to curl up in, this bed on the floor stuff is for the dogs.
Also, keep in mind with St. Patrick's Day coming, lots of new music will be released. Look for the much anticipated new album by Barleyjuice, available here the first week in February. Also new albums by Black 47, Flogging Molly and more. 59 days to St. Patrick's Day!! |
